Dear Santa
Thank you for your effort, perseverance and toil by which you bring the joy and happiness to the millions of children, who are blessed and privileged to be in their comfortable homes and neighborhoods.

We are children of less privileged dwellings and therefore have insignificant existence. Toys are the last thing on our list. But, surely enough, we do have our own list of things we want before we make toys our priority. For starters, we want a place to call home as we live in tents. We want to have the availability and access to safe drinking water, in the absence of which we fall prey to diseases. We don’t have access to education, which is every child’s birth right. Without proper education, we are perpetually in the vicious cycle of poverty and destitution. We don’t have safe neighborhoods which make our lives more miserable and leashed. We don’t have proper healthcare facilities to cure us from our ailments. We don’t have strong and just governments to protect us and fight for our rights. We don’t have access to healthy and nutritious food, without which our mortality rate is high. We live in poor sanitary conditions due to lack of awareness and poverty. Austerity is not our fashion but our everyday reality. We are food insecure and most of the times, are not aware of the source of our next meal. We have been deprived of enjoying, most of the technological advancements of modern times. Poor sanitation has increased our vulnerability toward deadly health challenges. We don’t have tools to preserve and conserve our environment around us, as we don’t have any safety net. Our childhood ends, before it begins. We are tired of living this wretched life but remain undefeated in our aspirations of dreaming and achieving better life. So dear Santa, all we want is basic human conditions for us. We are not someone’s politics or economics, but simple human beings with simple human aspirations of having, peaceful, healthy, educated, unleashed and successful life like other children of this world. Henceforth, we invite you to visit us, once in a while so that we can also live a life, as beautiful, colorful and vibrant as Christmas tree.

Thank you.
